When I looked at the astrological doings for March, I was struck by the fact that it begins with six planets in Pisces (Sun, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Chiron and Neptune) and ends with four planets in Aries (Sun, Venus, Mars and Uranus). The first planet to move into Aries is Mars on the 12th; then the Sun on the 20th; and Venus on the 22nd. Uranus, of course, has been in Aries for a while. This is a significant shift of energies, and so I believe that we will see in the middle of March a significant shift in direction, both personally and globally. For those of us, myself included, who have experienced a winter of deep hibernation and withdrawal, this influx of fiery energy may signify the end of the hibernation and the beginning of the coming forth of our renewed and regenerated selves. Also contributing to this shift is Mercury, which ends its three-week retrograde on March 17th. Continue reading

Astro Doings February 2013
Hi Everyone
Hope you had a good January. This February has two planetary direction changes and a lot of Pisces energy. Pisces is a water sign — the last of the twelve — and is one that seeks to merge with all that it. Pisces people generally have a hard time dealing with what they view to be the “harsh” realities of living on the earth plane.
In February Mercury, Mars and Neptune will be in this sign all month. Venus moves into Pisces at the end. Venus is said to be in her “exaltation” in Pisces. Venus is how we express and receive love and tends to be more individually focused: “I love you because you love me.” Pisces (ruled by Neptune, planet of compassion, redemption, illusion and glamor) takes Venus to “I love you because it is in the nature of love to love.” Neptune is the “higher octave” of Venus — meaning that it invites us to a more universal definition of love as opposed to individual relationships. And Neptune is expressing herself very freely as she moves through her own sign. Continue reading
Astro Doings January 2013
Hi Everyone
As 2012 ends the Sun and Pluto are “jogging” through Capricorn together — actually they’ll be neck and neck through January 10th. Capricorn is an earth sign, representing the status quo, stagnation (think Congress), structure, planning, and caution. In its higher manifestation Capricorn is the sign of the spiritual initiate, climbing sure-footedly out of the waters of emotion up the mountain of spiritual understanding. This can be a time of deep seated transformation, especially for those with planets and other significant points (like the Ascendant or Midheaven or lunar nodes) in early degrees (1-15) of the other earth signs (Taurus and Virgo) or the other cardinal signs (Aries, Libra and Cancer). (The energy of cardinal signs tends to initiate and is masculine in its feel. Those with lots of cardinal energy tend to start things, but not finish them. Entrepreneurs generally have a lot of this quality of energy.) Continue reading
Astro Doings December 2012
Hi Everyone
I find it hard to believe that I’m now writing about the last month of 2012. It certainly seems to me that someone has turned up the speed of the merry-go-round! Astrologically December is quieter than November.
Having said that, the on-going challenge/opportunity of the growth-producing relationship, called a square in astrology, between Uranus (rebellion, Shiva, destroyer of old patterns, innovator, mental, electricity, lightening bolts) in Aries (fire, questing for Self, selfish, new beginnings) and Pluto (transformation, shining light in places we don’t want to look at, power, power struggles, mines, espionage) in Capricorn (earth, structure, status quo, systems, reluctance to change, sure footed climb up the spiritual mountain) will continue — actually through 2015. The planets are very close together right now and Uranus changes direction on December 13th, which means his energetic influence will be more easily felt. He will be at 4 degrees Aries. For those with planets or other significant points from 0-10 degrees Cancer, Aries, Libra or Capricorn this on-going relationship can assist you in deep seated change. If you have planets in Cancer or Libra in challenging aspects in your chart, this transit of Uranus and Pluto can make this time even more significant. If you’re not sure if that’s the case, let me know and I’d be glad to help you with that. Continue reading
Astro Doings November 2012
Hi Everyone
Hope you all had a good October and that Sandy wasn’t too much for an issue for anyone. November promises to be rather exciting with eclipses and planets changing direction. So here we go: Continue reading
Astro Doings October 2012
Hi Everyone
Hope you had a great September and enjoyed the dance of the Moon and Jupiter in the heavens. Jupiter was the closest he’s been to the Earth in 150 years. Quite a show! You’ll be glad to know that October looks a little quieter astrologically. Continue reading
Astro Doings September 2012
Hi Everyone
Hope you enjoyed the Blue Moon last night — and tonight. Compared to what we’ve been seeing, September looks pretty quiet, sort of! Here’s what’s up.
Pluto: The planet of transformation, deep rooting out of old patterns and shining light in dark places that we don’t want to look into finishes his long retrograde (backward, i.e. moving west to east) journey on September 18th at 1:05 a.m. EDT. At that point he will be at 7 degrees Capricorn. Attention all those with any planet or other sensitive point on the chart, like Ascendant, MidHeaven (top of the chart) or the lunar nodes at 2-12 degrees Capricorn, Virgo, Taurus, Aries, Libra or Cancer. Now I’m sure you’ve figured out that this will really hit the uncomfortable (but growth stimulating) aspect between Uranus (rebellion, destroyer of old forms — or any form for that matter) in Aries (sign of the quest for Self) and Pluto, who’s in the sign of structure, stability, and the status quo. So, the energy could be quite intense around that time — great time for personal growth, shedding of old patterns — or not. We can get more entrenched and unwilling to move, but it will be painful, if that’s our decision during this transit. Continue reading
Astro Doings August 2012
Hi Everyone
Hope you had a great July. After two really active months, astrologically speaking, August looks a little calmer. Interestingly, the month begins and ends with a full moon. When there are two full moons in one month, the second one is called a “blue moon.” Hence the expression “once in a blue moon.” A full moon occurs when the moon is in the opposite sign that the sun is in; a new moon occurs when they are in the same sign. Astro Doings July 2012
Hi Everyone
Hope you all had a good June and enjoyed the celestial doings. July will be much quieter, although it begins with a solar eclipse that I wrote about in June. Here’s what I wrote then, in case you’ve forgotten — or don’t want to remember! 🙂 Continue reading
Astro Doings June 2012
Hi Everyone
June promises to be a very busy month with some pretty spectacular heavenly doings. The two indicators of feminine energy –the Moon and Venus — are putting on quite a show with back-to-back eclipses and a couple of planets are changing direction – so June won’t be dull! Continue reading
