Astro Doings April 2013

Hi Everyone

Hope you came through March without too much upheaval.  During the first half of April we will continue to have four planets (Sun, Venus, Mars and Uranus) in Aries, so it will continue to be fiery, impulsive, inspired, potentially warring and in its highest expression, questing for High Self.  In mid-April Mercury will join Uranus in Aries, when the others move into Taurus, so the higher mind (Uranus) and our concrete mind (Mercury) will be working together easily, bringing in out-of-the- blue (Uranus) ideas (Mercury) about what is holding us back and what to do about it!

In mid-April the Sun (our essence), Venus (our love nature, how we give/receive love, our values) and Mars (assertiveness, aggressiveness, how we stick up for ourselves) will move into Taurus, the first of the earth signs, and the most stubborn of the zodiac.  We can expect to see things slow down a bit.  Venus likes to be in Taurus (she rules it); Mars does not (much too slow for impulsive Mars who doesn’t like to think things over before he acts). Taurus helps us focus on what we really need to feel secure,  Frequently in the Taurean world view this includes chocolate, bubble bath, warm fuzzy bathrobes, flowers and all things beautiful.  Taurus is a very sensual sign.  It also has to do with our relationship with Mother Earth.  On the downside, Taurus likes to hang on to things – ideas, attitudes, stuff, emotions — longer than is useful, being stubborn, as I said.  In its highest expression Taurus relates to detachment and Buddha.

Also in mid-April — quite a busy time! — Pluto (power, transformation, underground, subterfuge) is stationing retrograde at 11 degrees Capricorn.  In fact Pluto will be at 11 degrees Capricorn for the whole month of April and May.  So attention all with any planetary placement at 1 – 21 degrees Capricorn, Taurus, Virgo, Aries, Cancer, or Libra.  Pluto in retrograde motion presents an excellent opportunity to explore deeply-held attitudes that create patterns in your life that you don’t like or that no longer serve you. Pluto will help you discover all of it — the good, the bad and the ugly. This change in direction will also impact the Cancer stellium (3 or more planets in one sign) in the US (Sibly) chart.

And last but not least, the moon (emotions, subconscious, mothers, feelings, intuition).  The new moon occurs on March 10th at 20 degrees Aries. And the full moon begins a series of three eclipses that will occur in April and May. The first is a partial lunar eclipse, which we will not be able to see, on April 25th at 5 degrees Scorpio.  (Of special note to those with 0-15 degrees Taurus, Aquarius, Leo, Cancer and Pisces.)  A lunar eclipse occurs at a full moon in zodiac signs that are opposite each other.  In each of these eclipses the sun will be next to the lunar south node, which means that the energy will be more focused on getting rid of old patterns and beliefs that are holding us back.  Sound familiar?  In addition, eclipses tend to alter energy matrices so that new patterns can emerge, in the form of new codes and “upgraded” consciousness.  This spring — April and May especially — are very powerful times of transformation on all levels.

I hope you all have a wonderful and transformative April.

Peace and blessings,

Margaret
