Astro Doings January 2014

Hi Everyone

Happy New Year! This year is off to an intense start, astrologically speaking, so set your New Year’s intentions carefully! This January has two new super moons, the first on January 1st at 100 Capricorn and the second on January 30th at 100 Aquarius.  A super moon occurs when the moon is closest to the earth, which can mean higher and stronger tides.

The new moon on January 1st is part of one of the most challenging astrological line-ups, called a Cardinal Grand Cross. Essentially it’s a big X in the heavens involving planets all the cardinal signs (Aries, Libra, Cancer, Capricorn). Cardinal energy, you will remember, is essentially male in its feel, initiates, rarely finishes, bores easily and is constantly moving.  It has an “in-your-face” quality about it. The relationships between the planets on the ends of the X are all challenging, providing opportunities for growth, adjustment and integration. Continue reading

Astro Doings October 2013

Hi Everyone

Hope you all enjoyed September. October promises to be busy with lots of growth opportunities.

The square between Pluto and Uranus continues to be very tight this month, continuing to provide energy on a personal level to do an in-depth (Pluto) review of structures (Capricorn) that impede or assist in breakthroughs (Uranus) to our being totally who we are (Aries).  In addition, Saturn, planet of old age, wisdom, fear, delay, and ruler of Capricorn is in a challenging relationship with Uranus.  It’s called an inconjunct and it is where two planets are close to each other but are in signs that having absolutely nothing in common.  In this case Scorpio and Aries.  Scorpio is a water sign and Aries is a fire sign.  Think of being at a dinner party seated next to someone you don’t know and have nothing in common with, but you’re stuck there all night.  This inconjunct with these planets requires us to face our fears (Saturn) and think outside the box (Uranus). Astro Doings June 2013

Hi Everyone

Hope you had a wonderful May.  Things will be quieter in June – no eclipses this month!   However, we do have two planets that will change direction.

The first one is Neptune that goes retrograde on Friday, June 7 at 4:26 a.m.  Neptune is in the water sign that she rules (Pisces).  Neptune rules illusion, the film industry, deception, redemption and compassion.  She can provide a different perspective on things in the way that we see things differently in fog, which she also rules.  When a planet is in retrograde motion, we experience its energies more inwardly than when it is in direct motion.  This will impact those with planets or other sensitive points in their charts from 0-10 degrees Pisces, Cancer or Scorpio (the three water signs) and Gemini, Virgo or Sagittarius.  It’s an opportunity to use Neptune’s energy inwardly (retrograde) to discern parts of ourselves that need redeeming; parts that needed a different perspective; and parts of us that need to be viewed with compassion.  Neptune will be retrograde until November. Astro Doings May 2013

Hi Everyone

Hope you had a great April and enjoyed the very, very brief lunar eclipse, even though we couldn’t see it here.

Eclipses: May will provide two additional eclipses.  It’s not unusual to have three eclipses in a row, but most often it’s only two.  (We won’t be able to see these either.)  A reminder that eclipses alter the earth’s electromagnetic field, realign grids and offer us all an opportunity to toss attitudes, beliefs and behaviors that no longer serve us and our spiritual path.  These three eclipses are all focused on releasing the past — dissolving it away from our thinking and emotions. Astro Doings April 2013

Hi Everyone

Hope you came through March without too much upheaval.  During the first half of April we will continue to have four planets (Sun, Venus, Mars and Uranus) in Aries, so it will continue to be fiery, impulsive, inspired, potentially warring and in its highest expression, questing for High Self.  In mid-April Mercury will join Uranus in Aries, when the others move into Taurus, so the higher mind (Uranus) and our concrete mind (Mercury) will be working together easily, bringing in out-of-the- blue (Uranus) ideas (Mercury) about what is holding us back and what to do about it!
