Astro Doings August 2013

Hope you all had a wonderful July.  August promises to provide continued opportunities for growth, although the planets will not change direction this month.  Everyone is going to keep going in the direction they were in during July. Uranus, Neptune and Pluto continue to move in retrograde, aka backwards or inward.  Here are the highlights for August.

Sun and Moon

The new moon occurs on Tuesday, August 6th at 5:51 p.m. EDT at 14 degrees Leo.  A new moon represents new beginnings.  Attention all with planets at 8 – 10 degrees Leo, Aquarius, Scorpio, Taurus, Aries and Sagittarius.  Leo is focused on love, rules the heart, quests for the divine within and easily relates to the inner child, since it rules children and creativity.

The second full moon in Aquarius in 2013 occurs on Tuesday, March 20 at 9:45 p.m. at 28 degrees Aquarius.  Whatever you began at the full moon on July 22nd will come to its fullest expression at this full moon.  Attention all with planets or other points on your chart at late degrees Aquarius, Leo, Scorpio, Taurus, Libra or Gemini. This may feel like the end of a cycle to you.

Just when I thought August was going to be quiet. . . .   Jupiter plays a very important role during this month – and beyond.  The planet of expansion, good fortune, faith, arrogance and fanaticism creates a t-square with Pluto (transformation, manipulation, power struggles) and Uranus (rebellion, destroyer of form, higher mind, electricity).  This means that these powerful planets have to work with one another. Jupiter is in water (Cancer) is opposed (or balances) Pluto in earth (Capricorn).  Earth gives boundaries to water, so Pluto can contain Jupiter’s unbounded enthusiasm and expansion.  However, they both have to work with Uranus, which is in Aries (fire). Fire likes neither earth or water, since they are both great ways to put fire out. This t-square, as it is known, has Jupiter on the opposite side of the zodiac from Pluto. This exposes attitudes, beliefs and structures that need to be transformed (Pluto) or eliminated (Uranus) with great insight and care (Cancer).  In addition Jupiter is in an easy (trine) relationship with Neptune (dreams, fog, illusion, redemption, compassion) and Saturn (structure, delay, fear, lack, lessons).  All these planets are in the very psychic and emotional element of water.

In addition from August 24-27, Venus joins the fun in Libra, creating a cardinal grand cross.  This is a time to clarify values and adding the element of love, peace and beauty (Venus) in the sign of relationship, Libra. The energy in this figure is closed — no outlet –it’s a big X in the heavens.  So it will tend to be more inward and not always easily expressed outwardly. Jupiter will be involved in five of these grand crosses until next spring.  We may all feel like we’re “stalled;” projects seem to take forever or not come to fruition; it may feel like there’s no energy to move forward.  t’s important for us to take advantage of these inner times with the intense changes that are afoot.

Have a wonderful August!

Peace, love and abundant blessings,

Margaret
