Hope you all enjoyed September. October promises to be busy with lots of growth opportunities.
The square between Pluto and Uranus continues to be very tight this month, continuing to provide energy on a personal level to do an in-depth (Pluto) review of structures (Capricorn) that impede or assist in breakthroughs (Uranus) to our being totally who we are (Aries). In addition, Saturn, planet of old age, wisdom, fear, delay, and ruler of Capricorn is in a challenging relationship with Uranus. It’s called an inconjunct and it is where two planets are close to each other but are in signs that having absolutely nothing in common. In this case Scorpio and Aries. Scorpio is a water sign and Aries is a fire sign. Think of being at a dinner party seated next to someone you don’t know and have nothing in common with, but you’re stuck there all night. This inconjunct with these planets requires us to face our fears (Saturn) and think outside the box (Uranus).
And we also have everybody’s favorite retrograde – Mercury’s last one in 2013 from October 21st to November 10th. He’ll be at 18 degrees Scorpio. Attention other water signs (Cancer, Pisces) and other fixed signs, aka sustaining, tenacious, stubborn, (Aquarius, Leo, and Taurus). This is a wonderful time to re-group, re-pair, re-think, re-treat and/or re-align. It’s not a particularly good time to start something new or make a big purchase. (If you have to buy something major, be sure to read the fine print.)
The new moon occurs on October 4th at 11 degrees Libra at 8:34 p.m. ET. Libra is about relationships and balance; new moons are about new beginnings and new intentions. This is a great time to think of how you can achieve more balance in your life, deepen relationships (with all life) and promote world peace. Remember that Libra is ruled by Venus, the planet of love. Venus is in Scorpio, along with Mercury. This gives us an opportunity to go deep into what keeps us in the dark. What fears are there that prevent us from expressing who we really are?
There is a lunar eclipse on October 18th at 7:38 p.m. Remember that lunar eclipses occur on full moons. The moon will be at 25 degrees Aries – across the zodiac from the sun in Libra. (At moonrise, the moon will be partially eclipsed and we will be able to see it in North America.) Eclipses, even partial ones, invite us to reboot our reality. Lunar eclipses signal ends of patterns, and bring to the fore subconscious, emotional patterns. In this eclipse the balance of Aries (self) and Libra (other) comes to the fore. Those with planets or other sensitive points on the chart at 15-30 degrees in the other fire signs (Leo and Sagittarius) or the other cardinal signs, aka initiators, impulsive, little short on the follow-through, Libra, Cancer and Capricorn, may feel this eclipse more intensely. If this is an important point in your chart, the first planet to transit the eclipse degree can signal an important event. Not sure if that’s the case in your chart or want to know more? Check with an astrologer. 🙂
The Sun enters Scorpio on October 23rd at 2:10 a.m. This will set up a solar eclipse on November 3rd, but we’ll talk about that next month. Eclipses always come in pairs. After October 23rd there will be no planets in air and six planets in water. Emotions will run high and close to the surface. Our ability to tune in psychically will be heightened. The Sun will then be running with Saturn. It’s a wonderful time for healing, but it could also be a time when we become paralyzed by fears (Saturn) that are buried below the surface (Scorpio).
Have a great October!
Peace and abundant blessings,
