Astro Doings February 2015

Hi Everyone

February promises to be somewhat quieter than January or March, so enjoy!

The February Full Moon occurs on the 3rd at 6:09 p.m. ET. She’ll be at 140 degrees Leo. Full moons can be times of increased awareness and looking across the Leo/Aquarius continuum, how do we balance our individual (Leo) needs with the collective (Uranus) needs? How are we using our individual creative (Leo) power for the benefit of humanity (Aquarius)? Remember that Leo is ruled by the Sun, our essence, our divine spark, and Aquarius is ruled by Uranus, planet of the higher mind, rebellion, and destroyer of outmoded thinking. (Remember that Uranus is still squaring Pluto, planet of deep-seated transformation. Pluto is currently in Capricorn, which represents structures, systems, etc. This adds emphasis to Uranus’s cry to do away with individual and collective thinking that no longer works.) Aquarius relates to the Sonship from A Course in Miracles; Leo relates to our unique contribution to the Sonship.

Mark your calendars – Mercury goes direct on February 11th at 9:57 a.m. ET! He’ll be at 10 Aquarius. This will be a good time for us to implement what we changed, rethought, or revised during his retrograde. He will remain in Aquarius, where he is extremely happy, until March. This is a wonderful time to implement innovative ideas that come to us from our Higher Mind.

The New Moon occurs on February 18th at 6:47 p.m. ET at 290 Aquarius. It is a super moon – the second of six – where the Moon is closest to the Earth (perigee) and also aligned with the Sun and Earth. Super moons have more impact on tides, tectonic plates and our emotional bodies, which can facilitate larger shifts in consciousness. Whatever we began at the New Moon in January (at 00 Aquarius) is coming to fruition or conclusion now – especially in the area of how we relate to one another, our planet and humanity at large. We’re in the middle of a series of six New Moons occurring at either the beginning or the end of a sign. Each of these either opens a new path (when it’s at zero degrees) or marks the ending of a pattern. It also marks the beginning of the Chinese New Year of the Sheep.

When the Sun enters Pisces on February 18th and for the rest of the month, it will be conjunct (next to) Neptune. Neptune is very strong right now as she is in her own sign. She rules dreams, fog, illusion, compassion and redemption, among other things. Pisces is a water sign, so we may see issues around water at the end of the month – or we may all be in a fog and/or more compassionate!

In addition, Venus, the planet of love that has been in Pisces (the sign of her exaltation), moves into Aries on February 20th. Now, Aries is Mars’s sign, so Venus is not particularly happy to be in this very male energy. The day before Mars entered Aries – so he’s really happy to be in the sign he rules – and both Mars and Venus are conjunct Uranus. This provides a lot more energy (Mars, masculine energy), unexpected ah-ha’s (Uranus) with a lot of love and probably some chocolate (Venus, feminine energy) in our quest to express who we truly are (Aries) from the highest perspective. With Saturn in Sagittarius and Jupiter retrograde in Leo, there is a lot of fire (enthusiasm, initiating, reckless) energy at the end of the month, which may try to boil the water (softness, compassion, psychic understanding) of Pisces away. On the other hand, the Sun and Neptune might try to drown the fire of Venus, Mars and Uranus. It will be interesting to see how we keep these elements in balance.

Hope you have a wonderful February!

Peace and abundant blessings,

Margaret
