Astro Doings November 2011

Hi Everyone

Hope you all had a good October.  November will be busier, so I hope you enjoyed the “quiet”!

Planetary Direction Changes

Neptune:  will end her retrograde transit through Aquarius on November 9th at 1:55 p.m.  She will be at 28 degrees Aquarius, which means she’ll be pulsing at that degree for the rest of the month.  Attention all those with planets in late degrees Aquarius, Taurus, Scorpio or Leo, or Libra or Gemini.  The last two signs work well with Aquarius, so it may be a time of increased analysis paralysis (all being air signs).  Neptune will remain in late degrees Aquarius for the rest of  2012.  Neptune, as you recall, is the planet of illusion, fog, addiction and redemption — quite a lot of territory!  She helps us gain a higher perspective on things, but she has a tough time on this plane and may lead you into thinking that escape is the best method.  Escape she will but things like music, meditation, spiritual studies fit her well.

Mercury:  Everybody’s favorite retrograde!  He stops (the technical term is “stations”) at 20 degrees Sagittarius on November 24th at 2:21 a.m.  (The day before a solar eclipse — see below).  He will be in retrograde motion until December 13 at 8:43 p.m.  Great time to re-think, re-treat, re-pair, re-group — anything with a “re” in front of it.  Communications may be a little garbled; your computer may give you fits; and things may not turn out the way you thought they would.  If you are signing legal documents during this 3 week period, read and re-read the fine print.

Solar Eclipse

There will be a solar eclipse on November 25th.  The sun will be at 2 degrees Sagittarius.  A solar eclipse occurs at a new moon. (The companion lunar eclipse will occur on December 10th at a full moon.) We will not be able to see this partial eclipse of the sun.  It will have the most impact for those with planets (or Ascendant) at early degrees Sagittarius, Gemini, Virgo or Pisces or an easier flow of energy (fire) in early degrees Leo or Aries.  Solar eclipses generally deal with the mundane world and focus on new beginnings (the new moon).  Eclipses open energy vortices that remain open for quite a while — years sometimes, depending on the eclipse.  This eclipse is fairly near the Ascendant of the United States — so we may revisit how we present ourselves to the world or how we are perceived may be presented to us to look at.

And. . . Jupiter will continue to move through Taurus in retrograde motion. Jupiter retrograde frequently means that we’re feeling less expansive and Taurus is the sign that likes to acquire things — nice things, mind you.  No junk.  So, interestingly he goes direct on Christmas Day.  This may curtail some of the spending that we do around the holidays. We’ll have to watch and see.

The Sun moves into Sagittarius on November 22 at 11:08 a.m.  The full Moon occurs on November 8th at 18 degrees Taurus.

Have a great November and a joyous Thanksgiving.

Margaret
